There are a couple of road closures planned for this weekend. Here are the details so you can make alternate travel plans.
Woods Road will be closed at the intersection of CTH PD. No access from Woods Road to CTH PD can occur. Please follow the posted detour route. The closure will occur on Saturday, December 10th, from 7am to approximately 4pm, depending on weather. The road is being closed for underground utility re-locations within the right-of-way of CTH PD. Questions should be directed to the City of Verona.
A Jingle Bell Run/Walk will be held on several roads within the City of Verona. The major affected roads are N. Nine Mound, Cross Country, and Hwy M. The event will take place on Saturday, December 10th from 10:30 to 12:30 p.m. Maps and other information can be found at: http://www.jbr.org/faf/help/helpEventInfo.asp?ievent=1160711&lis=1&kntae1160711=2B0E219A50924080A0466AB48EDE3F01
Since it’s going to snow, we say just stay in.
Next Tuesday, December 13th at 6:00 p.m., the Town will host a meeting focusing on “Area 6”. This area is bounded the City of Fitchburg on the east and portions of the City of Verona on the west as shown on the map below. It is north of Sunset Drive and south of Tonto Trail. Property owners in this area are specifically invited to come discuss potential future land uses for this area. Others who are interested are welcome to attend as well.
The information discussed will be used to update of the future land use map that will be part of the Town of Verona Comprehensive Plan. Meetings on the whole comprehensive plan will follow in several months.
A possible quorum of The Town is continuing its work on an update to the 2006 Comprehensive Plan. To do this we’ve broken the Town down into different study areas and are hosting meetings with property owners in each area.
the Town of Verona Board of Supervisors, Plan Commission and/or Public Works, Ordinance, Natural and Recreational Areas, and Financial Sustainability Committees could occur at this meeting. The meeting will be for information gathering only and no formal action will be taken.
If you have questions, please feel free to call or email me.
