Established in 1847, the Town of Verona is a local unit of government within the County of Dane in the southern part of the state of Wisconsin. The Town is on the southwestern edge of Madison — Wisconsin's State Capital. The town of Verona has an estimated 2017 population of 1,981 and is part of the Verona Area School District.

Deadline to renew your Dane Co. Dog License is March 31, 2017.

If your dog is not licensed by April 1, a $5.00 late penalty (per dog) will be added. In addition, a citation could be issued to you for failure to license your dog.

The BPNN SATURDAY Community Meal Schedule has been set for 2017.

BPNN – (Badger Prairie Needs Network) serves a free community meal on most Saturdays from 11:30am – 1PM.

 

EVERYONE is welcomed to attend. Please bring your own takeaway containers for leftovers.

 

Holidays: NO MEALS
April 15 (Easter weekend)
May 27 (Memorial Day weekend)
Sept 2 (Labor Day weekend
Nov 25 (Thanksgiving weekend)

 

Summer Schedule:  Starting June 1, meals WILL BE served on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month including these dates:
June 3 & 17
July 1 & 15
August 5 & 19

No meal will be served on the 2nd, 4th or 5th Saturday of the month between 6/1/17 and 9/1/17

 

2017 meal program ends on Nov 18 to make room for the largest food drive of the year.

2018 meals start on Jan 6!

SPRING ELECTION – Election Day is Tuesday, April 4, 2017

All Town residents vote at the new Town facility in the Community Room located at 7669 County Highway PD Verona, WI.
Polls open at 7:00am and close at 8:00pm.

Voter ID is required to vote (At the Polls and Absentee)

ABSENTEE VOTING
Request a ballot by mail by 2pm Thursday, March 30, 2017.
In-Person Absentee Voting ends Friday – March 31, 2017 at 5:00pm.

Comprehensive Plan ‘Area 1′ Property Owners Meeting Tues. March 14th

at 6 p.m. at the new town hall (7669 County Highway PD). There will be meeting focusing on ‘Area 1′.

Area 1 is made up of the land north of Highway PD, south of Mid Town Road, east of the town line, and west of Wood Road. Property owners in this area are specifically invited to come discuss potential future land uses for this area. Others who are interested are welcome to attend as well.

A possible quorum of the Town of Verona Board of Supervisors, Plan Commission and/or Public Works, Ordinance, Natural and Recreational Areas, and Financial Sustainability Committees could occur at this meeting.
