PLEASE JOIN US this year for some Fall Seed Collection ….and SAVE THE DATE!!-Nov 4, 2017 Prairie seed planting date at the Town of Verona new site.

Each fall, dozens of volunteers contribute hundreds of hours collecting prairie seeds throughout Dane County incredible park system.  This seed is used to help plant many more acres of prairie in Dane County.

We encourage Town residents to volunteer to help with this in exchange for Parks giving us some seeds for our prairie planting on Nov 4, 2017  after they’re processed.

Sign up  and tell D.C. Parks or the event leader that your are from Verona so we get “credit”.

It’s fun work and you learn a lot about prairie plants!

Notice to Hillside Heights Residents – Wolf Paving is going to start this Friday – August 18th

to pulverize the roadways within Hillside Heights – Cortina, Everest, Andes and portion of Allegheny.

Thursday afternoon workers will be on site marking driveways. Friday morning crews will begin to grind and grade down the road. During construction, access along the roadway will be an inconvenience to residents along the corridor. The roadway will be open during construction and will allow for emergency vehicles, buses and garbage pickup as occurs currently.

Residents will have access to their driveways at the end of the work days. Staff will work with the Contractor to notify property owners of work that could prohibit access for a brief period of time.

If you have any landscaping, flower beds or perennials within the Town right-of-way, now is the time to move the plants from the work area.  Otherwise, understand that it may be damaged by construction.

It is anticipated that once the Contractor begins on this project they will continue until completion. The Contractor plans to work 7:00am to 7:00pm – weather permitting.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact the Town’s Project Manager, Ron Lease at 608-338-3626.

Your patience is appreciated. It will be worth it when it’s over!

Pellitteri Notice: New Guidelines for Mattresses, Box Springs and Bed Bugs

Part of Pellitteri’s residential contract with the Town of Verona is
to service Town residents with ‘bulky item’ pick-up services for items
too big to fit in your cart. Two of these items – mattresses and box springs
- have recently presented some challenges for Pellitteri.

Some new guidelines have been created for preparation of these two items
for curb or road side pick-up. The attachment below outlines those guidelines
that Pellitteri is already communicating to Town residents when calling for
mattress and/or box spring pick-up.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to call Pellitteri Waste Systems
at 257-4285.
