Established in 1847, the Town of Verona is a local unit of government within the County of Dane in the southern part of the state of Wisconsin. The Town is on the southwestern edge of Madison — Wisconsin's State Capital. The town of Verona has an estimated 2017 population of 1,981 and is part of the Verona Area School District.

Town of Verona Residents – IT CAN HAPPEN HERE Presentation…Tuesday – Feb 6, 2018 at 5:30pm.

Deputy Josalyn Longley from the Dane Co. Sherriff’s Office will be providing training on preparing for a potential active shooter situation.

 

This is an uncomfortable topic, but we have been informed the training is very good and can be applied to violent situations in a variety of locations (malls, restaurants, etc.)

 

Please feel free to participate by joining us Tuesday – Feb 6th at 5:30pm at the Town Hall Community Room.

 

Training is for Adults and is FREE!

The Town of Verona’s first formal Plan Commission meeting is this Thursday night – January 25th, 2018 at 6pm.

Thursday, January 18th, 2018, the Plan Commission will host a second meeting to discuss

the draft of the future land use map that will be a key feature of the new comprehensive plan. An overview of the policies associated with land uses will also be presented. The future land use map was developed from the discussions that were held for the eight areas of the Town during 2017.

 

The focus will be properties east of Pleasant View Road and Highway 69.

 

The meeting will start with a presentation by the Plan Commission Chair, Douglas Maxwell, and then there will be time for public questions and comments. These public comments will be considered by the Plan Commission as the future land use map is revised.

 

If you have comments specific to your property, you will be asked to submit those in writing so we can track potential changes to the map.
