Dane County Sheriff Deputy has reported on 02/06/18 on Nesbitt Rd there was a stolen auto.
The vehicle was running (warming up) and unattended.
This seems to be a trend lately. City of Madison, Fitchburg, Middleton and other parts of Dane County have seen cars go missing. A majority of the cars are being stolen from residents’ driveways when a car is left running to warm up or leaving keys in the car.
Don’t leave your keys in your car. Don’t warm up your car even if you are going to lock the car. If the car is running..…it’s a temptation.
An additional concern beyond the victimization of people that have lost their cars, if young people are taking the cars, they could crash, injure themselves or hurt someone else.
