The session will focus on the role conservation easements can play in protecting farmland and permanently limiting rural development.
Jim Welsh, Executive Director of Groundswell Conservancy. Jim has been Executive Director of Groundswell in Madison, Wisconsin since 2003. He leads their work to conserve farmland, wildlife habitat, and recreation areas in Dane County and the surrounding area. Since Jim became executive director of Groundswell, the Conservancy has tripled the amount of land it has protected.
Renée Lauber, DCTA Policy Advisor. Renée has been Policy Advisory for the DCTA since 2009 and was appointed Secretary/Treasurer in 2017. Prior to working for the DCTA, Renée administered the town of Dunn’s purchase of development rights and land use programs for ten years. She worked to establish the program and protect over 2,500 acres of farmland and natural areas.
Pellitteri will be closed on Monday, May 28th in observance of Memorial Day.
Residents will be serviced one day later than their normal service day during the week of May 28th to June 2nd.
Residents normally serviced on Friday will be serviced on Saturday, June 2nd.
Since collection routes may be serviced differently, your pick-up time may be altered. As always, please make sure to have your carts out by 6:00am.

through August 17, 2018 for the replacement of the two bridges south of the Military Ridge Bike Trail. The trails will remain open.
Access to the County gardens will be by foot traffic over the new Badger Mill Creek pedestrian bridge completed last week. Access to the park and ride will be available throughout the bridge replacement project.
