Established in 1847, the Town of Verona is a local unit of government within the County of Dane in the southern part of the state of Wisconsin. The Town is on the southwestern edge of Madison — Wisconsin's State Capital. The town of Verona has an estimated 2018 population of 1,982 and is part of the Verona Area School District.

David Lonsdorf, Ice Age Trail member, Prairie Moraine Friends member, and Town of Verona Open Space and Recreational Areas Committee member,

is giving a series of tours of the Prairie Moraine County Park. This hike is open to people and dogs and will start at the parking lot of the park on Highway PB.

 

David will discuss interesting glacial features and show off an Oak Savanna restoration.

 

Dogs will be loose in the dog park portion, but will need to be leashed for the second part of the hike.

 

Several hikes are planned.

 

One is this Saturday, November 3rd at 3p.m.

Others are Saturday, November 17th at 3p.m.;

Wednesday, November 21st  at 2 p.m.;

and Sunday, December 2nd at 10 a.m.
