The Town of Verona is
located in the
southern part of the state of Wisconsin. As a local unit
of government within the County of Dane, the town is
on the southwestern edge of
the state
capital – Madison – The population
is 1,.948
The Town of Verona
is governed by a five
(5) member Board,
consisting of a Town
Chair and four
supervisors. These
elected officials serve
for a term of two (2)
years. Town citizen
commission members
serving in various
capacities, are
appointed by the Town
Board on an annual basis
and also serve two (2)
year terms.
The calendar year
for town government
begins with tax
collection in January.
Elections are held in
the spring and review of
town properties takes
place by early summer.
Fall consists of
elections if scheduled
and also budgets for the
subsequent year are
drafted. Public hearings
on all budgets are held
by November and approval
results in the creation
of property tax bills
for the following year.
