The Town of Verona is
located in the
southern part of the state of Wisconsin. As a local unit
of government within the County of Dane, the town is
on the southwestern edge of
the state
capital – Madison – The population
is 1,.948
The Town of Verona
Plan Commission is
governed under Ordinance
10-01. This
ordinance is under
review by the Town Board
to consider the
elimination of two (2)
citizen positions.
The Commission's primary
function is to maintain
a comprehensive master
plan showing the
future land use recommendations for the
physical development of
the Town. The review and
amendments to the
Comprehensive Plan are
performed on an annual
basis by Commission
members or as requested by
land owners. The long
range goal of the
Commission is to
maintain a plan to
provide for the current
and future uses of town
land in a proactive
manner.
The Commission is
comprised of two (2)
town board members and
three (3)
citizen representatives.
Following the spring
election, commission
member appointments are
nominated by the Town
Chair and approved by
the town board.
Any citizens interested
in serving on the Town
of Verona Plan
Commission could
contact the Town
Chair by mid-April of
each year.

Thursday of
the month is
the normal meeting day.
When a
month has an
extra
Thursday
before the
first
Tuesday - a
meeting
could occur
on the FIRST
Thursday.
These
meetings
have a 6:30
p.m. start
time the
dates are
established
around May
1st of every
year.
