Subdivision & Land Development

The subdivision and development of land typically involves the creation of a Certified Survey Map and/or a rezoning. Both of these processes are regulated by Dane County but involve Town approval.

In addition, much of the Town falls within the Extraterritorial Jurisdiction of the City of Verona, the City of Madison, or the City of Fitchburg; therefore, the approval of those jurisdictions is required for the subdivision of land within these areas.

If you are considering the subdivision or development of land, please contact Amanda Arnold at (608) 807-4460 or at aarnold@town.verona.wi.us for an initial consultation about the process. You should also review the Town’s subdivision ordinance: Town of Verona Subdivision OrdinanceFor more information about zoning, you can review information provided by Dane County at www.countyofdane.com/plandev/zoning/.
