Appointment of Clerk/Treasurer
The Town Board of the Town of
Verona, Dane County, Wisconsin. does
ordain as follows:
Pursuant sec. 60.10 (1) of Wisconsin
Statutes a town meeting held on
November 23, 1988, which provided
for the combining of the offices of
Town Clerk and Town Treasurer in
accordance with 60.305 (1) of
Wisconsin Statutes.
Pursuant to 60.30 (1e) (b) of Wisconsin Statutes a referendum question,
placed on the April 4, 2000 ballot,
passed by the Town of Verona
electorate to provide for the
appointment, by the Town Board, of a
person to the Office of
Clerk/Treasurer.
The term of office for the duties
of Town Clerk/Treasurer shall have a
term of three (3) years with the
initial term under the appointment
process to commence on the 2nd
Tuesday of April, 2001.
The salary of the Town
Clerk/Treasurer shall be set by the
Town Board upon annual review of job
performance pursuant to 19.85 © of
Wisconsin Statutes.
Any other ordinances of provision
contained in the Town of Verona
Ordinances that may be in conflict
with the appointment process for the
offices of Town Clerk/Treasurer are
hereby repealed.
Pursuant to sec. 60.43(2) of the
Wisconsin Statutes, the town's
financial records shall be audited
at least once every year by a
certified public accountant
appointed by the Town Board who his
not otherwise employed by the Town.
This ordinance shall be effective
upon posting of the Ordinance as
required by law.
