Established in 1847, the Town of Verona is a local unit of government within the County of Dane in the southern part of the state of Wisconsin. The Town is on the southwestern edge of Madison — Wisconsin's State Capital. The town of Verona has an estimated 2018 population of 1,982 and is part of the Verona Area School District.

Thursday – Sept 14th at 6:00 p.m. there will be a joint Plan Commission/Board meeting to discuss general development policies.

This meeting will be a joint meeting with the Town Board and will be a sort of workshop format for them to discuss policy issues. While some current development proposals may be discussed in the context of larger policies, no site specific decisions will be made, and there will be no public hearings for specific projects.

I know many of you are interested in some projects currently under consideration so wanted to give you an updated Plan Commission timeline for each. Please note that these schedules are subject to change. All Plan Commission decisions are advisory to the Town Board and all Town Board decisions are then acted upon by Dane County.

September 14th – general land planning discussion for Plan Commission and Board

September 21st – information presentation on “Driftless Ridge” on Shady Oak Road and information presentation on “Fox Hill” on Midtown Road.

October 5th – Plan Commission work session on comprehensive plan

October 19th – Potential public hearings on “Deer Haven” on Sunset Drive, and “Driftless Ridge” and “Fox Hill”.

Please feel free to contact Amanda Arnold at 807-4460 if you have questions about any of these proposals. Images of the conceptual layouts of the developments can be found here:
