Established in 1847, the Town of Verona is a local unit of government within the County of Dane in the southern part of the state of Wisconsin. The Town is on the southwestern edge of Madison — Wisconsin's State Capital. The town of Verona has an estimated 2017 population of 1,981 and is part of the Verona Area School District.

Town Establishes New Committees

With so much ahead with for the Town of Verona, the Town Board has decided to adjust and expand its committee structure. In November the Open Space and Parks Commission was disbanded. In early February it was replaced with a Natural and Recreational Areas Committee. In addition, a Public Works Committee, Ordinance Committee, and Financial Stability Committee were established. The Plan Commission and EMS Commission structures were left the same.

The Public Works and Natural and Recreational Committees will hold their first meetings on Wednesday, February 24th at Town Hall. The Public Works Committee will meet at 8:30 a.m. and the NRAC will meet at 2 p.m. After all the committees have established regular meeting times, a new page dedicated to there work will be added to this site.
