Established in 1847, the Town of Verona is a local unit of government within the County of Dane in the southern part of the state of Wisconsin. The Town is on the southwestern edge of Madison — Wisconsin's State Capital. The town of Verona has an estimated 2019 population of 1,998 and is part of the Verona Area School District.

The Wisconsin Nurserymen and Landscape Association provided volunteer labor and discounted materials to landscape the front of the Town Hall.
This was organized and led, by Deb Paul, who serves on the Town’s Plan Commission (Check out Deb on the Bobcat below).
They will be back this Saturday – November 3rd, 2018 to finish the job.
If you’d like to help out for an hour or two, just stop by the Town Hall between 9 and noon and check in with Deb.

David Lonsdorf, Ice Age Trail member, Prairie Moraine Friends member, and Town of Verona Open Space and Recreational Areas Committee member,
is giving a series of tours of the Prairie Moraine County Park. This hike is open to people and dogs and will start at the parking lot of the park on Highway PB.
David will discuss interesting glacial features and show off an Oak Savanna restoration.
Dogs will be loose in the dog park portion, but will need to be leashed for the second part of the hike.
Several hikes are planned.
One is this Saturday, November 3rd at 3p.m.
Others are Saturday, November 17th at 3p.m.;
Wednesday, November 21st at 2 p.m.;
and Sunday, December 2nd at 10 a.m.

FEMA and Other Assistance Available to Flood Victims
The Town of Verona has been notified by the Dane County Emergency Management Office that FEMA working with state and local officials, will soon open a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Dane County. The location for this DRC is being ascertained but expected to be identified in the next day or two. The DRC is where affected residents can go in person and talk with FEMA representatives face-to-face, have questions answered and receive assistance completing the proper FEMA registration forms. All residents seeking assistance are required to register with FEMA. Prior reporting to 2-1-1 or other reporting does not count! This message is imperative. Residents have until December 17, 2018 to apply.
