Established in 1847, the Town of Verona is a local unit of government within the County of Dane in the southern part of the state of Wisconsin. The Town is on the southwestern edge of Madison — Wisconsin's State Capital. The town of Verona has an estimated 2019 population of 1,998 and is part of the Verona Area School District.
The Town is having a presentation about a newly adopted manure ordinance. Jokes can fly about manure and ordinances, but manure management can have strong impacts on surrounding properties. Dane County’s Chapter 49: Agricultural Performance Standards and Manure Management ordinance became effective on July 1, 2019. Staff from the Dane County Land & Water Resources Department will present an overview of the standards, permitting, and requirements under the new ordinance as well as the conservation planning and technical services offered to assist landowners with implementing voluntary conservation projects on their lands. This presentation will be particularly important to those of you who farm or lease out land.
