Town of Verona Weekly Update May 10 2024

The Department of Natural Resources is soliciting public input on Epic System Corporation's DNR permit application for Wetland Disturbance in Dane County until May 19th 2024.  More information can be found here. Any member of the public may submit written comments by emailing Crystal.VonHoldt@wisconsin.gov, over the phone at (920) 410-3181, or writing to Crystal VonHoldt, 2984 Shawano Ave., Green Bay, WI 54313 by U.S. mail.  Comments should include the docket number or applicant name (Epic Systems Corporation) and should relate to whether the project meets the legal standards listed above. Comments must be postmarked no later than May 19th, 2024 in order for them to be considered. 

Road work on the US 18/151 project from Mount Horeb to Fitchburg has resumed. Continuous lane closures through the Verona area are scheduled to begin on Monday 5/20/2024. Traffic impacts are anticipated during peak travel times. Using alternate routes is encouraged. Efforts will be made to reduce the length and durations of the lane closures as much as practical to minimize impacts to traffic. Additional information and lane closure details can be found here. All work for the project is scheduled to be completed by mid-June 2024.

The Town does not pick up brush nor have a drop-off site for brush.  Residents may burn brush on their properties.  Please check burn conditions at this site prior to burning and obtain a burn permit from the DNR.  Please also let the Verona Fire Department know the date and time of your scheduled burn.
