Town of Verona Weekly Update November 4, 2022

General Election – Tuesday, November 8

The General election will be held on Tuesday, November 8th at Town Hall, 7669 County Highway PD, Verona, from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

There will be  NO in-person absentee voting option or registration on Monday November 7th.  You can, however, drop off your absentee ballot during office hours on Monday (8am to 2pm) and during election hours on Tuesday. PLEASE NOTE – you may only drop off your own ballot.

Upcoming Town of Verona Special Town Meeting

Notice is hereby given that a special town meeting of the Town of Verona, Dane County, Wisconsin, will be held at Town Hall, 7669 County Highway PD, on the 15th day of November, 2022, at 6:30 p.m. for the following purposes:

  1. Call to Order/ Convene Special Town Meeting of the Qualified Electorate Pursuant to Sec. 60.12(1)(c), Wis. Stats.
  2. Consider a Motion to Adjourn the Public Hearing Regarding the Proposed 2023 Town General Fund Budget to November 29th, 2022
  3. Motion to Adjourn

Plastics Recycling at Town Hall

A collection bin for recyclable plastic bags and wraps is now located in the front vestibule at Town Hall.  These recyclables are used to create Earth friendly decking and railings.  In addition to plastic grocery bags, a wide variety of other plastics are accepted:

  • Produce bags
  • Store bags
  • Ice bags
  • Ziploc and other reclosable bags
  • Cereal box liners
  • Case overwrap
  • Bread bags
  • Newspaper sleeves
  • Dry cleaning bags
  • Bubble wrap
  • Plastic e-commerce mailers

Plastics must be clean, dry, and free of food and residue.  Please remove/cut labels off e-commerce packaging prior to recycling.  The Town Hall vestibule is accessible 24/7 for drop off at your convenience.  A poster with program details may be found here.

Town Brush Drop-Off Program

The November brush drop-off dates for residents are Saturday, November 12 and Wednesday, November 16, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Town of Verona Public Works Garage site.  Vouchers must be purchased in advance at Town Hall during business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.  More information may be found here.
