Comprehensive Plan

The Town’s Comprehensive Plan is a policy document that guides the future of the Town. It is primarily used to make decisions about lot splits and new development, but it also sets a vision for the Town as a whole. The Town recently completed a major update to its comprehensive plan. 

Adoption Process and Timeline

8/23/18 – The Plan Commission adopted the draft plan, kicking off a process to release it for a formal 30 day public comment period. PC adoption resolution

10/2/2018 – The Town of Verona Board of Supervisors held a public hearing on the draft plan. Written comments were provided to the Board and people were encouraged to speak during the public hearing. The Town Board moved to postpone adoption until the Plan Commission could review the comments received and make edits. Public hearing notice 8.30

10/11/2018 – The Plan Commission reviewed comments received to date and made edits. 

11/13/2018 – The Town Board adopted the revised plan. Ordinance 2018-05 Adopting the Comprehensive Plan

2/26/2019 – The Dane County Zoning and Land Use Committee held a hearing and approved the plan.

3/7/2019 – The Dane County Board of Supervisors approved the plan and it became final.
