Utility Commission Board

Overview

The Town of Verona Utility District #1 consists of properties located on the east side of the township. The neighborhoods of Goose Lake, Wendelwood and Hillside Heights are part of Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District’s “Central Urban Service Area”.

The Town Board serves as the District’s Commissioners and provides governance of the entity. Budgets are created, approved annually and the service fee for each user is established. Properties are billed annually for the service with a special fee on the tax bill.

The Commission meeting is held annually in late November/early December for the purposes of approving the next year’s operating budget and increasing user fees if necessary.  The system is in need of continued maintenance, so residents within the sewer district area are encouraged to attend to learn what might be involved.
