Town of Verona Weekly Update March 11 2024

The Natural and Recreational Areas Committee will be meeting March 12th at 6:30pm.  The agenda can be found here.

Road work on the US 18/151 project from Mount Horeb to Fitchburg is scheduled to restart on Monday, March 18th. Single lane closures will be set in two separate areas of the project. Additional information and lane closure details can be found here. All work for the project is scheduled to be completed by mid-June 2024.

Plant Dane Native Plan Program

Plant orders will be accepted through March 19th (or while supplies last up to 35,000 plants sold)  Not only are native plants beautiful, but they provide important ecosystem services such as habitat for pollinators and wildlife and improved water quality.  The Plant Dane Program provides Dane County residents access to native plants at the discounted price of $2.88/plant ($11.50/4‐pack). If a voter is unable to vote on Election Day, they may vote absentee by mail or in person absentee at Town Hall during early voting. 

The Spring Election will be held on April 2nd 2024.

Voting by In Person Absentee: Voters that wish to cast a ballot before Election Day may do so at the Town Clerk's Office during the 2-week period before Election Day. Please note, the last day to vote absentee is the Friday before the election. There is NO voting the day before the election. 

In Person Absentee Voting for the Spring Election on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 will begin on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 and end on Friday, March 29, 2024. Absentee voting will be conducted during regular office hours Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM until 2:00 PM . 

Requesting a Ballot by Mail: To request a ballot be mailed to you, please visit the MyVote website (https://myvote.wi.gov). You may be required to submit photo identification with your application - please, no selfies.
