Senior Services

Overview

Beginning in January 2022, the Town of Verona will be contracting with the City of Verona for senior services. In addition to the various activities, classes, and events that you are already welcome to attend at the Verona Senior Center, the following services will be available to you:

Case Management
Case management provides seniors, their families, and their caregivers with information, short-term support, and ongoing case management support and services. Case management provides confidential needs assessments and referrals to appropriate resources. Case Managers can arrange, answer questions about, or make referrals for:

  • Nutritious meals, including home-delivered meals
  • Transportation – local
  • Transportation - medical appointments
  • Personal care / Home care
  • Hospice services
  • Health insurance
  • Drug coverage / Medicare Part D 
  • State and county programs - resources and eligibility
  • Elder abuse or neglect
  • Caregiver support and resources
  • Social and recreational programs
  • Scam prevention
  • Tax assistance (referrals only)

Home-Delivered Meals
Home-delivered meals provides nutritious meals to seniors who have difficulty obtaining food and/or preparing meals for themselves. Meals are delivered at lunch time, Monday through Friday by volunteers. Meals are prepared by TNT Catering and can be prepared to meet dietary restrictions. There is a suggested donation of $6 per meal. Available to Town of Verona residents beginning January 2022.

Transportation - Local
Transportation is available to seniors 60 years and older within the City and Town of Verona, Monday through Friday from 9:30 AM – 2:00 PM (Rides must be completed by 2 PM). This service is provided through Transit Solutions and the bus is accessible for walkers and all types of wheelchairs. Rides can be arranged by calling Verona Senior Center at 608-845-7471. Available to Town of Verona residents beginning January 2022.

Transportation – Medical Appointments
Transportation to medical appointments within Dane County is available to eligible seniors 60 years and older through the RSVP program. Rides are available Monday through Friday 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM on a first come, first serve basis. To enroll contact Julie Larson at 608-848-0440. Once enrolled rides can be arranged by calling Verona Senior Center at 608-845-7471. Available to Town of Verona residents beginning January 2022.
