Town of Verona Weekly Update May 3 2024

The Town Board will be meeting on Tuesday May 7th at 6:30pm.  The agenda can be found here.

The Department of Natural Resources will be hosting a public informational hearing on Epic System Corporation's DNR permit application for Wetland Disturbance in Dane County on May 9, 2024, at 5-7pm at the the Town of Verona Town Hall.  More information can be found here

Road work on the US 18/151 project from Mount Horeb to Fitchburg has resumed. Lane closures have begun. The inside (median) lane of eastbound and westbound US 18/151 will be closed from Spring Rose Road to WIS 69. These closures are an extension of the closures currently in place from Spring Rose Road to the Sugar River. Single lane closures will be set in two separate areas of the project. County Highway PD and other Epic Related Road Construction Update - The Two-Week Road Impact Look Ahead map is available here.  Epic's Annual XGM is being held from April 29th - May 10th.  Traffic will be increased and heaviest between the morning and evening rush hours so please plan accordingly. 

The Town does not pick up brush nor have a drop-off site for brush.  Residents may burn brush on their properties.  Please check burn conditions at this site prior to burning and obtain a burn permit from the DNR.  Please also let the Verona Fire Department know the date and time of your scheduled burn.

The City of Madison and Dane County want to know what residents think about how the County should spend money from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) over the next five years (2025-2029). This money helps with things like affordable housing, neighborhood centers, helping businesses grow, and giving people access to important resources. They need your help to figure out what our community needs most. Your ideas will help us decide where to focus our efforts. The County wants to hear from everyone in Madison and Dane County, including families and community partners like non-profit groups, housing developers, and business owners. This survey should take about 10 minutes to complete. You can take it in English, Spanish, Hmong, or Chinese.
