Town of Verona Weekly Update October 20 2023

A Message from Town Chair Geller:

The town has several committees that advise the Town Board on various matters. Currently the Finance Committee and the Natural and Recreational Areas Committee are in need of volunteers to serve on the committee. The Finance Committee meets as needed, not more than once a month. They are charged with exploring ways the Town can have long-term financial viability, and advising the Town Board on major expenditures and budgeting. The Natural and Recreational Areas Committee meets once a month in the evening. They are charged with advising the Town on open space preservation and improvement.

We are open to any resident with an interest and background that would fit either of these committees. Please respond with an email to the Town Chair, mgeller@town.verona.wi.us with a brief statement about your interest and qualifications.

Thanks in advance for your consideration to volunteer for the Town of Verona!

US 18/151 Project from Mount Horeb to Madison

The weekly construction update can be found here. On Saturday, September 30th, the on-ramp from Epic Lane/West Verona Avenue to US 18/151 eastbound will be closed from 6:00am to 6:00pm for paving work on the ramp. A detour will not be posted, but drivers are encouraged to use the on-ramp from West Verona Avenue to US 18/151 westbound and use the CTH G interchange to turn back to US 18/151 eastbound.

Motorists are advised to leave early as there are slowdowns in the area, especially during peak travel periods. When approaching the work zone slow down, stay alert for workers and keep the phone down.  As noted in the attached weekly update, please be aware that the speed limit has been changed to 55 mph through the work zone.
