Town of Verona Weekly Update September 8 2022

The Town's trash and recycling day of service will be changing to Friday starting September 22nd.  More details can be found here.

Ironman Wisconsin will be held this Sunday September 10th and will impact traffic in the Town of Verona.  The following roads will be be impacted from 7:30am to 5:30pm and should be avoided : Timber Lane, Midtown Road, Shady Oak Lane, Cross Country Road, Valley Road, Sugar River Road, CTH G .  A detailed map of the bike course is available here.

US 18/151 Project from Mount Horeb to Madison

The weekly construction update can be found here. Motorists are advised to leave early as there are slowdowns in the area, especially during peak travel periods. When approaching the work zone slow down, stay alert for workers and keep the phone down.  As noted in the attached weekly update, please be aware that the speed limit has been changed to 55 mph through the work zone.

Town of Verona Comprehensive Plan Amendment Process

Amendments to the 2019 Comprehensive Plan may be appropriate in the years following Plan adoption and in instances where the Plan becomes irrelevant or contradictory to emerging policy or trends. Applications for an amendment to the Comprehensive Land use plan must be submitted to the Town by September 30th of odd numbered years, and the application period is now open.  More details on the process can be found here.  Please call Sarah Gaskell at 608-807-4460 with any questions.

The Town will be hosting a Sustainability Forum on Wisconsin Climate Change Impacts: Agriculture and Watersheds.  The presentation will be Wednesday evening September 20, from 6:30 to 8 pm and will feature speakers Lindsay Foy and Diane Mayerfeld. The forum will be held in the Town's Community Room. There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion and light refreshments will be served.
